Hi there! My name's Yogen, and I am a Final-Year Medical Student studying in Leicester. Tutoring is something I am very passionate about! I understand the importance of having that extra bit of guidance—just to feel reassured that you're on the right path and heading in the right direction. I appreciate how difficult studying can be, especially for core subjects, which is why I am here to offer my full support.

Over the past five years, I have tutored various subjects but my specialties are the Sciences. These are subjects that many students find challenging and often feel unsupported in at school. I completed my GCSEs in these subjects, achieving grades 8s and 9s. I then went on to achieve A*s in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics in my A-level exams. My academic success is a testament to the tried-and-tested study methods that I encourage all my students to adopt. I am extremely enthusiastic about making a positive impact on my students' academic journeys, and I wholeheartedly hope that my passion for the Sciences inspires you to achieve more than you ever thought possible.

Whether you feel like you are falling behind and struggling to meet your predicted grades, or you are actively striving to excel and achieve the top marks, I offer tutoring styles to cater to all types of sessions. I believe it is important to determine the best learning techniques for my students as I appreciate that everyone absorbs content in different ways. I typically aim to determine this by the first session so that we can dive straight into refining content in subsequent sessions. 

Regardless of the specific tutoring style, my sessions tend to have set fundamentals. First and foremost, I emphasise the importance of understanding the subject matter itself. Without a solid grasp of fundamental concepts, answering exam questions effectively becomes challenging. This is a top priority for me as I believe that true learning comes from grasping the underlying concepts; not just memorising facts. Once my students feel confident in their foundational knowledge, I incorporate regular practice with exam-style questions to familiarise students with the format and expectations of their exams. 

I am also mindful that exam boards tend to use various styles of questions in exams, and I ensure that we thoroughly cover all types, including application-based questions, which are often where students lose the most marks. Additionally, I provide my students with opportunities to consolidate their learning through homework. These are usually past exam paper questions, and I offer detailed feedback in the following session to reinforce understanding and address any gaps. This approach also helps students to develop valuable core skills outside of tutoring, such as independence and time management, which are crucial for long-term academic success.
