Fully qualified biology teacher since 2007 teaching biology and building confidence in nervous and anxious students. Willing to tailor tutoring to individual needs, develop exam technique as well as biology knowledge. Ofsted graded outstanding, I`ve worked as an IT and teaching and learning mentor to other teachers.

Prior to working in Education I worked in the NHS which has been immeasurably useful as a biology teacher as it`s provided me with plenty of real life examples of abstract concepts as well as the ability to advise students interested in going on to study medicine and medical related fields.

When not teaching we can be found walking the dog, reading nerdy books and playing a totally brutal game of scrabble.

Lots of online teaching experience using a variety of techniques and interactive media. Each lesson is designed to be a collaboration with the student, to bring them confidence in answering exam questions.

Additional resources such as graphic organisers, key diagrams and past papers are made available within the classroom.

All resources are very visual and designed to support questioning and expansion of topics, this provides a lot more flexibility and engagement than passive reading through power point presentations.

Provision of exam questions and specific exam technique is in built into every lesson
