I am a Masters in Electrical Engineering and besides having wide experience of working as a lecturer/Teacher with Electrical Engineering/Physics specialism. I also worked in the Industry as a Network Engineer. 

Having been selected for undergraduate, graduate studies and also jobs through competitive exams , I know that the secret of success lies in having thorough knowledge in the subject. In subjects like Physics and Maths the attitude to love the challenge in solving problems help. To that end I as a tutor, assess the gap in the knowledge and help them with the right scaffolding so that they develop that attitude to problem solving and also in turn becomes much happier learner being able to solve problems with sound reasoning at each step of the way.

I also mentor my students to set clear goals for themselves and to give their consistent effort to achieve it and they know that I am also ready to work hard for them.

Tutoring of any subject/topic is driven by the need of the student, so tutoring is by its very nature tailored to suit the need of a particular student in a one -to - one session.

So in the initial discussion the student will be asked about the topic they are thinking of learning/revising during the tutoring session.

If it is new learning then I will start with concepts/skill that one needs to have in order to learn a new topic. 

If it is recapping then assessment activities bring out where the gap is.

I always make sure students know beforehand what is to be covered broadly by making them aware of the board exam specification on the topic. 

These serve as our learning objectives and at the end part of the session I make sure to check with them the progress we made in understanding the key learning objectives. Students in their own words give me their understanding as the learning outcomes.

In the main part of the lesson if it is Maths we have 'I do you see', 'I do you assist ', 'you do I assist part' and then there is a complete independent task phase. 

I want Physics A level board examinees to read their respective text books to also know what is the content of their textbooks. To that end, I often ask students to read through the relevant sections during the lesson and then guiding them through the relevant problems slowly increasing the challenge along the way.

Paper 3 in AQA and OCR involve both good understanding of required practical and good command over mathematical tools used to analyse accuracy vs precision of experimental data .It also requires students to connect between different strands of Physics knowledge. I also curate good videos and use worksheets prepared on the video to help them focus and glean information for their learning.
