I am a very experienced Head of Science and Physics with more than 25 years in post teaching Physics at all level from year 9 to 13. I have a proven record of achieving good grades at A level and with GCSE subject results that are regularly the best in the school when I am the only Physics subject specialist. Of particular pride is the number of girls who have chosen to study A level Physics, with a current student having just sat round 2 of the Physics Olympiad. We also routinely accept and successfully guide students through the A level course without them studying A level Mathematics. I have led a diverse department at the forefront of innovative, varied and cooperative teaching and learning and helped them manage numerous changes of curriculum, 

I believe in innovative, varied and cooperative teaching and learning and that a wide variety of resources and approaches are needed to further knowledge and understanding. The basis of good tutoring is organisation and preparation and ultimately students must be be helped with exam technique and practise questions once topics have been taught.
