I’m a friendly and enthusiastic science tutor currently studying Biomedical Science and completing a placement at a pharmaceutical company, where I work alongside scientists and see how biology and chemistry are applied in industry. This experience has made my tutoring more grounded and relatable - I can show students how what they’re learning links to real research, medicines, and the world around them.

I love taking topics that feel confusing or intimidating and breaking them down into simple, manageable ideas. My background as a sailing instructor and team racing captain means I’m used to teaching in a calm, patient way and supporting students even when they’re feeling stuck or unsure.

I’ve taught students of all abilities, from those aiming to gain confidence to those pushing for top grades, and I always tailor my lessons to the exam board and each student’s individual pace. I focus on active learning, asking questions, using real examples from my degree and placement, and building skills that last beyond the exam. Helping students finally ‘click’ with a tricky topic is genuinely one of my favourite parts of tutoring.

My teaching style is friendly, structured and highly personalised. I break difficult concepts into simple, memorable steps and guide students through topics using questions, diagrams and real-world examples so they fully understand why things work, not just the facts. I create a calm, supportive atmosphere where students feel confident to ask questions and learn from mistakes.

I use exam-board-specific methods, regular problem-solving practice, and spaced revision strategies to build strong recall and exam technique. Every lesson is tailored to the student’s goals, whether that’s boosting confidence, filling knowledge gaps, or pushing towards top grades. My aim is to help students feel capable, motivated and fully prepared for their exams.
