I have also worked for several charities overseas. The knowledge and understanding gained through this international experience has enriched my approach to teaching economic development. By drawing on real world examples and first-hand experiences, I can provide students with a more engaging and comprehensive perspective on development issues.

Every student is unique!

Each student brings their own preferred learning style and unique motivations for engaging with tuition support. Recognising these differences is central to the support provided. My initial discussions with the student, coupled with attentive listening to their ongoing feedback, play a vital role in shaping my tuition sessions. Through this ongoing dialogue, I am able to adapt my methods and ensure that the support I provide remains closely aligned with the student’s objectives and preferences.

To further refine my personalised approach to tuition, I may ask the student to share an answer to an exam question which has been completed under timed conditions. This helps me gain a clearer understanding of the student’s current abilities and helps ensure the tuition I provide is well targeted and supports each student in achieving their specific goals.

What are the some of the key skills which help secure higher grades in economics?

An awareness of current real world issues relevant to each area of the economics specification.

Applying relevant economics concepts and diagrams to the question set.

Developing the skills of chains of analysis and evaluation. 

It is also crucial to possess a thorough understanding of how to effectively structure responses for each question type.  

In the tutoring sessions there will be a focus on the above areas drawing on my teaching and examiner experience. This will be delivered in a supportive and engaging manner. Constructive feedback is provided.
