About Rob

4 years teaching science in UK schools. After receiving my first class degree in chemistry from the University of Manchester, I took a job in industry working as an organic synthetic chemist for a pharmaceutical company. Realising my passion lied in teaching when I started tutoring a friend's daughter, I switched career and have not looked back since.
Tutoring Style
I utilise a plethora of digital applications to keep the lessons fun and engaging. I teach with a direct instruction style. I then spend time explaining how I would approach each exam style question in guided practice, before allowing them to have a go independantly with the added benefit of one-to-one instant feedback there and then. This way, the pupils are as ready as they can be for their final examinations.
