I am an experienced sixth form Psychology teacher and Head of Psychology, with over 10 years of teaching experience across further education and school sixth form settings. I have extensive expertise in delivering A-Level Psychology, with a strong understanding of exam board requirements, assessment objectives and effective exam preparation strategies.

As Head of Psychology, I was responsible for curriculum planning, assessment design, monitoring student progress and supporting teachers to deliver high-quality teaching. I have significant experience analysing student performance data to identify gaps in understanding and implement targeted interventions that support sustained progress and improved outcomes.

Alongside my subject leadership, I have delivered professional development for staff and NQTs on engagement, stretch and challenge, and effective teaching strategies. I hold the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL) and have completed a Data Analytics Bootcamp, strengthening my ability to use evidence and data to inform teaching and student support. My approach is grounded in clarity, rigour and high expectations, helping students develop strong subject knowledge and exam confidence in A-Level Psychology.

My tutoring style is structured, clear and supportive, with a strong focus on building students’ confidence in A-Level Psychology. I break down complex theories and research methods into manageable steps, ensuring students understand key concepts, studies and evaluation points rather than relying on rote learning.

Sessions are tailored to individual needs and typically combine explicit teaching, guided practice, exam-style questions and structured summaries to support retention and application. I place particular emphasis on exam technique, including how to interpret questions, structure extended responses and meet assessment objectives.

I create a calm and encouraging environment where students feel confident to ask questions and develop independence in their learning. Through clear explanations, targeted feedback and effective revision strategies, I support students to feel well-prepared, motivated and capable as they approach assessments and examinations.
