About Momina
Over the past ten years, I’ve gained the skills and experience to make learning clear, engaging, and enjoyable for my students.I am a qualified Computer Science teacher and have worked at Wanstead High School as well as serving as Head of Department at Willowfield School, where I successfully led the Computer Science team for five years. My career also includes valuable teaching and support roles at Our Lady’s Convent School, Kelmscott School, and Mission Grove Primary School.
I hold a Master’s degree in Innovative Technology (Distinction), a First-Class Honours degree in Business Information Systems with IT, and both a diploma and advanced diploma in Computer Studies. I was also awarded a prestigious scholarship from the British Computing Society for my PGCE in Computing with ICT at University College London.
Over the years, I have developed strong classroom management skills, creating a positive and engaging environment where students of all abilities—including SEN and EAL learners—are motivated to achieve their best. I am passionate about tailoring lessons to meet individual needs, using a variety of strategies to ensure that every student feels challenged, supported, and inspired.
My experience extends beyond subject teaching: I have worked as a form tutor, delivered assemblies, organised booster sessions, enrichment activities, and cultural events, and mentored Early Careers Teachers. As a leader, I have designed schemes of work for KS3 and KS4, covering Computer Science, Digital Literacy, and ICT, while supporting colleagues to deliver consistently high-quality lessons.
I believe education is not only about subject knowledge but also about building resilience, motivation, and confidence in students. Seeing young people grow and succeed is the most rewarding part of my profession, and it inspires me to go above and beyond for every learner I work with.
Tutoring Style
I create a positive and engaging learning environment where every student feels motivated and supported. I tailor my sessions to each individual, ensuring that high achievers as well as students with SEN and EAL needs are appropriately challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.
I use a variety of strategies, from step-by-step explanations(eaching concepts and then practicing past year exam questions) to interactive problem-solving and scaffolding, so that students can build both confidence and subject mastery. I also believe in the importance of encouragement and praise, helping students develop resilience and motivation alongside academic progress.
Beyond teaching subject knowledge, my priority is to nurture independent learners who feel confident tackling challenges, asking questions, and applying their skills. Tutoring is not just about achieving top grades—it’s about helping students build resilience, confidence, and a love for learning. This is especially important in Computer Science, where a significant part of both GCSE and A-Level exams focuses on computational thinking and problem-solving through text-based programming.
