I am a highly experienced and dedicated teacher of A level Chemistry with 30 years teaching experience, 24 years teaching A Levels, 2 years teaching KS3 to KS5 children, plus 4 years teaching Medical students. For most of my career I have taught Chemistry, Science, Biology and Cell Biology and I have taught yoga, meditation and mindfulness to students for 16 years during the Enrichment programme. I have been a tutor for 20 years. I have tutored Chemistry, Biology and GCSE Math to students for ten years, the latest three years and a half being online tutoring. I have taught AS Biology for 5 years between 1997-2002. For more than eight years I have marked A Level Chemistry papers, enhancing my insight into teaching exam technique. For more than 24 years I have been Head of Science and Head of Chemistry in outstanding Colleges and Schools. My ability to educate and nurture students is evident by their improved grades, but I also have outstanding records as an engaging, inspirational, and supportive teacher. Students at my colleges have recommended me for international teaching awards that I have won based on their nominations, which is a credit to how much students value my guidance and teaching. I am not afraid to take on any student who wants to learn, whether they have next to no experience or are high achievers. I enjoy developing students not only into better chemists, but better individuals. Generations of students remember me with fondness and come to visit me years after graduating from our college. Many students have praised my teaching and recognised my contribution to their success and students’ references are available on demand. Twenty-five years of teaching A level chemistry with outstanding results, twenty years of supporting young students in my role of a personal tutor and eighteen years of teaching yoga, meditation and mindfulness to students are proof of my dedication to the profession.

I personalise my teaching to my student. I find out the topic the student wants to study before the lesson and prepare resources. Each lesson is different, however, we will go through the theory together and through past exam questions and the student is engaged throughout. I share files and write down notes, I show videos, pictures, models. I have my own molymods and allow students to work through their misunderstandings and reinforce knowledge.
