My favourite age group to teach is 14-18 year olds. I have been teaching for over 20 years in secondary schools and colleges, mostly AQA GCSE Physics and OCR (A) and AQA A level Physics. I've tutored one to one in person and online for most of that time and enjoy helping students to understand difficult abstract concepts and learn how to answer challenging exam questions. I have a good track record in boosting students grades by helping them gain confidence and I am easy to talk with and have a good sense of humour! I have three kids of my own who have all been through A levels and Uni. 

I work very interactively so that I can check students' current understanding, using open questioning. This also helps in showing students how they are progressing. I use a lot of visuals to help students develop their understanding of abstract concepts and processes and then work on their explanations for A level questions. I teach students good exam technique and work with them on the different styles of A level questions so they gain confidence.
