Hi, I’m Karambir (though many of my students just call me Karam)! I hold a first-class degree in Economics from Queen Mary, University of London, and have been passionately teaching Maths for over 8 years.
My students consistently achieve outstanding results—GCSE pupils see an average 2-3 grade improvement, while my A-level students have a 100% success rate in securing A/A* grades**. My approach focuses on breaking down complex topics into simple, relatable steps, tailored to each student’s learning style.
Beyond maths, I’m a huge sports fan—whether it’s cricket, football (COYG! 🏴), or F1, I love bringing that same energy and dedication to my tutoring. My teaching philosophy for Mathematics revolves around the belief that consistent practice and a targeted focus on weaker areas are fundamental to success. I hold that "Mathematics is not a spectator sport" – as George Pólya aptly said – meaning students must actively engage with the subject through hands-on problem-solving to truly master it. I place a strong emphasis on past paper questions as a core practice tool, encouraging students to start working on them early in their preparation. This approach not only familiarises them with exam formats and expectations but also builds resilience and confidence over time. By identifying and addressing weaker areas through tailored exercises and feedback, I ensure students develop a robust understanding, turning challenges into strengths.
