I have been teaching full courses and tutoring online since 2013. I teach maths, chemistry and physics to GCSE / IGCSE, mostly Edexcel, also covering functional skills level 2 in maths. At A level I have been teaching OCR A chemistry, Edexcel IAL chemistry, though I have also taught Salters (OCR B) in the past, and Edexcel UK and Edexcel IAL maths. I have had students go to Cambridge to read natural science and a lot of success with those with additional needs. I have taken a good number of students through A level maths or chemistry in a year for those needing resit or wanting to change careers (often into medicine). I have full qualified UK teacher status and worked for 10 years as an industrial chemist before training to teach.

I am in my mid-40s, living in a quiet house in Kent with a large fat cat, 4 chickens, 2 pet rats and some human family members. I have a relaxed and fun style to my teaching and I am really enthusiastic about what I teach. This rubs off on my students, many of whom go on to STEM careers. I want students to understand the material presented but also be able to write it back in such a way that they score high marks, so I include a lot of past paper questions and work in my lessons. I love what I do! I have been teaching online since 2013 in small groups and 1:1, with a lot of students from the UK but also other countries, especially UAE.

I am a qualified Irlen screener and proficient in spotting additional needs and working out how best to work around them, to give useful methods to students so they can learn. I am an invigilator for Pearson Edexcel, remote invigilating for those who need to do their exams from home. I am also an exam marker for Edexcel IGCSE chemistry.
