Hi, I'm Ethan, a First-Class Mathematics graduate from The University of Birmingham and a Management Consultant specialising in Data Analytics & Artificial Intelligence, working in the city of London for a top global firm. Outside of my professional career, I have dedicated over seven years to tutoring, engaging in both online and in-person formats, and teaching many PMT revision courses. Prior to joining PMT Education, I have completed 5000+ hours of Mathematics lessons, teaching students at various levels, including 11+, 13+, KS3, GCSE, and A-Level (Mathematics & Further Mathematics) across all major exam boards. This extensive experience has equipped me with a rich pool of resources and in-depth expertise, enabling me to offer tailored and effective tutoring sessions.

My current students attend schools such as Haberdashers, Highgate, North London Collegiate, Yavneh College, Watford Grammar, JFS, Wycombe Abbey, Immanuel College, City of London, etc. 

My journey into teaching was solidified during my university years, where I explored the realm of distance learning in mathematics education. Through my research and hands-on experience, I've become adept at crafting engaging online lessons tailored to maximise student learning. My practical experience includes a teaching internship with the Bishop Challoner Training School Alliance, where I honed my skills in teaching mathematics to students of all abilities and ages. My engaging style creates a supportive learning environment which helps students excel in mathematics.

Furthermore, I have represented the University of Birmingham Muay Thai Boxing Society, where I have successfully competed in interclub fights across the country. These experiences have enabled me to develop my physical and mental strength, leading to academic achievement. I have also completed the Duke of Edinburgh's Bronze, Silver and Gold awards.

Unlike most tutors, my aim is to provide a comprehensive understanding of all the topics rather than just memorising methods. This tried and tested approach consistently enables my students to attain top grades.

Starting with the first lesson, the student and I work together to identify any key weaknesses and areas for improvement. We then develop a tailored plan to address these issues in a structured and effective way.

At the beginning of every topic, I check the student’s understanding through a range of techniques. Once a starting point has been established, I use a mixture of exam and textbook questions to fully engage with the student. I have a wide range of resources and free textbooks available which I teach and use to set homework at the end of every lesson. Homework is crucial to practice content covered in lessons, to develop a greater depth of understanding which, in turn, boosts grades.
