Hi there! My name is Darcy and I am a Theoretical Physics PhD student at the University of Sussex.

I have been tutoring for about 7 years now and in my recent years I have been focussing on Physics and Maths A-Level in particular.

My interest in Physics and Maths comes from the idea that I love to learn. In these subjects there is always another problem to solve and always another scenario to discover. I have been passionate about these subjects- especially Maths- since a very young age and have always loved the structure that Maths problems and exams give.

I am a true believer in the idea that one method of working out problems does not suit everyone. The way I teach is adapting to the way that you think. Overall, my main aim is to help you enjoy these subjects as well as obtain good results. I will always begin the lesson with asking you if there is anything pressing that you need to go over, following this we will work through topics that you are struggling with, always recapping over the topics of the last lesson- as constant practice with these subjects are key! I have found in the past that different techniques work for different people, however I am a very visual teacher and learner and believe in writing out every detail possible and comparing situations to real life scenarios so that the problems seem less confusing. When I was preparing for my exams at school this helped massively, as I found that with subjects like Maths and Physics, sometimes the concepts are so unfamiliar and confusing that to make them seem less daunting, creating an analogy for situations help.
