### About Courteney

I am a female PhD in Mathematics at University College London, where I also work as a teaching assistant for undergraduate mathematics. In addition, I have been a private tutor for over 3 years teaching across Edexcel, OCR and AQA exam boards. Furthermore, I hold a masters degree in mathematics from Imperial College London, where I was awarded a prostigous 'Women in Mathematics' scholarship.

### Tutoring Style

I like to have very interactive lessons. I find it is best to teach mainly through example problems, with a little introduction to the topic at the start. I find the students get more out of the lessons when you ask them to go through the problems on their own first, and you as a tutor are there to guide them through when they get stuck, instead of completley solving the problems for them as they watch. You don't learn how to play football by watching other people play football, you learn by practising yourself with the guidence of a coach!
