Claire is a Maths and Economics teacher, and currently Head of Economics and Statistics at a secondary school in London. She teaches Maths across all Key Stages (GCSE and A Level) and leads the school’s statistics curriculum.

In addition, Claire is an experienced AQA and Edexcel Economics examiner. She draws on this experience to give students targeted feedback on their written work, helping them improve exam technique and achieve higher grades.

MATHS: I use worked examples to model how students should approach different types of questions. This step-by-step approach, commonly used in schools, helps build a clear understanding of problem-solving strategies.

I prioritise giving students plenty of opportunities to practise during our sessions, supporting them to develop fluency and confidence when tackling a variety of problems. Each lesson is tailored to the individual needs of the student, ensuring a personalised and effective learning experience.

ECONOMICS: My tutoring approach combines strengthening subject knowledge with developing strong exam technique.

Success in A Level Economics relies on being able to write excellent extended essays that demonstrate the skills examiners are looking for. As an experienced examiner, I have a deep understanding of what makes a successful essay. I support students with essay planning, marking, and detailed feedback on their written work, helping them refine their technique and build confidence in their writing.
