Billie is an experienced AQA Psychology teacher teaching all abilities including Oxbridge preparation, EPQ and personal statment help. Over the past two decades her roles include Head of Social Sciences (Psychology, Sociology, Law, Health and Social Care) and Head of Psychology. Her special interests are in exam technique, effective feedback to students, essay writing in Psychology and evaluations in Psychology A Level exam. She has developed a 1-2-1 method which she has been using for over 15 years with her own students for solid grade increases. She is also experienced in Oxbridge interview preparation for Psychology students. Her wider interests are in memory and recall. Billie is a published author of an educational manual for teachers. • Personal statement: how to write a stand out personal statement, and what to do to be able to include stand out points  

 I design interactive lessons based on student's current need so each lesson might be different. I work to help them to understand and memorise content and help with the exam technique and essay writing. Lessons are interactive and student is an active participant. It is well known that people who do not engage verbally with their learning find it difficult to memorise and understand content. I am happy to help students of any ability and any level of knowledge and understanding. I think it is important to see the current work (papers, essays etc.) so I can give constructive feedback and help student improve their performance. I love being asked questions as I find that if student have a question this is when they are most ready to learn. Questions are often very helpful for tackling misconceptions. I enjoy helping students to make links between different topics and use that knowledge to maximise marks. I can also help with organisation (revision, prep for tests, organising notes etc.) and memory techniques to save time during revision and to maximise marks at essays. I also offer Oxbridge interview preparation (mock interviews). PLEASE NOTE: I don't teach statistics remotely (AQA Research Methods Year 2 statistical tests).
