I am a qualified teacher and I have been teaching English for over 13 years. I'm currently working as Lead Teacher of English. I teach English Language and Literature to Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 and I have been an examiner for AQA and Eduqas in different papers for over 7 years. Additionally, I am qualified through the National Qualification in Leading Teacher Development and gained Chartered Teacher Status. I'm an experienced tutor, dedicated to helping my students achieve their academic goals and excel in their studies. I really enjoy using technology as an effective teaching tool - currently studying with Oxford University in delivering distance learning.

I'm passionate about teaching English and helping my students gain a love of learning. I specialise in challenge for grades 7-9 and intensive intervention skills for grades 4 and 5. I do this as an examiner - ensuring the student knows how to achieve high levels on the mark scheme by knowing what the exam boards are looking for. 

Some students are passing English and need support to achieve grades 7-9 through critical thinking, tentative writing skills and understanding of authorial intent. Some students need that little bit of extra support in how to acquire the skills to achieve a grade 4 English through timings or structuring a clear response. I assess a baseline and create a bespoke plan as to how to approach each student's journey, dependent upon individual needs and timescales.
