Gearing up for your A Level exams? Our one-day A Level Biology exam technique course is a fantastic way to get up to speed.
During the course, our tutors – themselves professional examiners – will help students develop the knowledge and skills to maximise their marks and avoid the common pitfalls that cost them. They’ll learn the most effective ways to answer different types of question, from multiple choice, practical and calculation to those daunting long-answer questions – which can be notoriously difficult to get right. In addition, our tutors will also assist students with their time management skills, ensuring they’re pacing themselves properly and not racing against the clock on exam day.
Students will leave this course feeling prepared and polished, ready to take on their A Level Biology Exam with confidence.

Classes are from 9.30am to 4.30pm. Registration starts from 9.15am.
There will be a 1 hour lunch break and a couple of 10 minute breaks in the morning and afternoon.

Owen achieved his BSc in Zoology from Newcastle University and today teaches AQA A Level Biology at a sixth form college in West Yorkshire. He began teaching the AQA specification in 2016, giving him a thorough knowledge of the course content and exam papers. As such, many of his students have achieved fantastic results in their exams.
Owen focuses heavily on fundamental biological principles, helping students develop a thorough understanding that enables them to apply their knowledge to unfamiliar concepts. Whether he’s teaching in a classroom or tutoring privately, his engaging and motivational teaching style ensures students feel involved and supported at every stage.
Teresa, also known as Tre, holds a BSc in Biomolecular Science, an MSc in Biomedical Basis of Disease, and a PGCE in Secondary Science. She’s taught biology in various settings since 2007, including online classes and a top ten-rated sixth form college in the Midlands.
As well as teaching biology and biology-adjacent subjects, Teresa mentors other teachers in IT and works as an A Level Biology examiner for two different exam boards. The latter has given her a thorough insight into today’s papers, allowing her to build teaching strategies that provide students with the knowledge, application skills and confidence to ace their exams.

Ben is an A Level Biology tutor with a First Class Honours degree from the University of Worcester and experience teaching biology across the West Midlands. He takes a clear, confidence-building approach, helping students develop a strong understanding of core biological concepts and apply their knowledge effectively to exam-style questions.
With experience as a SENDCo, Ben supports all students in building strong exam technique, confidence, and independence, ensuring they feel prepared and supported throughout their studies. Ben specialises in supporting pupils who have lost confidence, taking a patient and understanding approach while helping them develop the skills and exam technique needed to achieve high grades.

Clarisse is an experienced biology teacher with 7 years of classroom teaching and five years of tutoring experience. She graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in Biological Sciences and completed her PGCE at Plymouth University.
As an AQA examiner, Clarisse has a strong focus on helping students build confidence in their knowledge before applying it to exam questions. She often begins with the “big picture,” helping students understand the overall framework and key concepts of biology before exploring the finer details, showing how topics connect in a broader context.
Clarisse is passionate and enthusiastic about both her subject and her teaching, with a desire to share her love of science with her students. Her lessons are interactive, incorporating diagrams and exam-style questions, and she is skilled at adapting her teaching to suit a wide range of learning styles. She aims to make learning enjoyable while boosting confidence and exam performance.
