Hi, I’m Zain, a mathematics tutor and university mathematics student specialising in A-Level, Further Maths, TMUA, STEP, and Maths interview preparation.

I believe mathematics becomes genuinely exciting when you understand the ideas behind the techniques, not just memorise them. My goal is to help you think like a mathematician: to reason clearly, approach difficult problems with confidence, and build a deep intuition that lasts far beyond the exam.

I have over a year of experience tutoring GCSE, A-Level, Further Maths, MAT, TMUA, both online and in person. I also actively study university mathematics, including analysis, linear algebra, and multivariable calculus, which lets me explain A-Level content with far more insight and clarity.

My approach is built around three pillars:

1. Diagnose the student’s understanding

Every lesson begins by identifying what the student already knows and where the gaps are. I often use short diagnostic questions to quickly map their strengths and weaknesses.

2. Teach intuitively and conceptually

I specialise in breaking down difficult ideas into simple, intuitive explanations:

- using the unit circle to introduce trigonometric functions

- grounding calculus in geometric and real-world intuition

- linking algebraic expressions to visual and conceptual interpretations

- explaining proofs step-by-step in a way that feels natural and logical

My aim is always to build genuine understanding, not rote learning.

3. Build long-term mastery

I revisit key ideas regularly to ensure students retain what they’ve learned. I also create custom problem sets and homework tailored to each student’s goals, whether that’s A* exam performance, university interviews, or high-level problem solving.

By exam season, students not only remember the content, they can use it confidently and flexibly.
