I am a highly experienced and fully qualified teacher with over 15 years of classroom teaching and 22+ years of tutoring experience. I hold a Chemistry (Hons) degree and a PGCE, and my background includes extensive work across both the state sector (11 years) and the independent sector, where I currently teach.

As an AQA Examiner, I bring specialist insight into exam requirements, mark‑scheme expectations, and the techniques students need to secure top grades. This examiner expertise has enabled many of my pupils to significantly strengthen their subject knowledge, exam technique, and overall confidence.

I have successfully prepared my own children for entry into QE Boys and St Albans High School for Girls, and having coached them in science for both GCSE and Chemistry for A levels they have have successfully embarked on a career in medicine.

I hold an Enhanced DBS check, and I offer flexible scheduling to accommodate students’ availability. My teaching approach is structured, supportive, and highly personalised, ensuring each learner receives targeted guidance that builds confidence, mastery, and exam readiness.

My teaching methodology is firmly rooted in meeting the individual needs of each student. I ensure that every learner develops a secure understanding of the topic before progressing to more advanced application and exam practice.Each lesson follows a structured, evidence‑based sequence:

Concept Teaching: I deliver clear, focused instruction to build strong foundational knowledge of the topic.

Mini‑Assessment: Students complete a short diagnostic test to check understanding and identify any misconceptions.

Exam‑Style Practice: Pupils then work through carefully selected exam‑style questions to apply their knowledge in a realistic context.

Feedback and Discussion: We review answers together, analysing mark‑scheme expectations and refining exam technique.
