After a degree in Physics, I trained to be teacher and now serve as the Head of Physics at a school in the Midlands. For the past 17 years, I’ve been delivering engaging physics lessons across KS3, KS4 and A-levels. I work hard to develop the practical and theoretical skills of my students and encourage them to appreciate the relevance of physics in their daily lives. I’m passionate about promoting physics - so I run a physics club at my school and train non-specialist teachers to teach the subject. I have been tutoring physics on another website for a few years and have recently moved to the Physics and Maths Tutor website. 

I take a structured yet flexible approach to tutoring - adapting each session to the student’s needs and goals. Over the years, I’ve helped many students achieve top grades at GCSE and A-level - including my own son, who earned a Grade 9 in GCSE Physics last year.

My explanations are clear, concise, and designed to make complex concepts accessible. As a former examiner, I have deep insight into what examiners look for, and place a strong emphasis on developing exam technique. I regularly use past paper questions and provide detailed feedback to help students refine their answers and boost confidence.

I suggest proven strategies to help students retain knowledge effectively. Whether it’s mastering tricky topics or building long-term understanding, I support students in becoming independent learners. I have successfully tutored students across all major exam boards, including AQA, OCR, Edexcel, and IGCSE. 

I have a passion for the history of science and often weave in fascinating stories to make lessons more engaging and memorable. My goal is not just to help students succeed in exams, but to spark curiosity and a deeper appreciation for the subject.
