I am a qualified Biology teacher and work in a secondary school part-time where I mostly teach A-Level Biology. I have also tutored many students both in school and privately (in person and online). I am passionate about Biology and love to instil my passion into other students. I taught the entire AQA A-Level Biology course to one student who was not in school due to medical reasons who then went on to do an apprenticeship with a vaccine company and another student went from a predicted 'U' to a 'C' in six weeks following an intensive course of tuition which started just three weeks before her final exams (this student is now a midwife). I have also tutored many GCSE Biology students. 

Before becoming a teacher I worked as a microbiologist and biochemist and am also a qualified personal trainer and fitness instructor so I have a wide range of knowledge and skills. I also have a daughter with SEND and have worked with many SEND students in schools so understand how to cater for additional educational needs e.g. by breaking things down into manageable chunks. 

I can offer help with subject knowledge, math and statistics skills, exam technique and even prepare AQA students for the 25 mark essay question. I have also helped students write personal statements and prepare for interviews so I truely believe that I can help with anything you need help with.

I am patient and understand that every student learns differently. I usually start with some recall questions to check students have understood previous content or to determine how much help a student might need with a topic they have learned in school. Then I deliver some content, usually using a visualiser and I use lots of diagrams so students can visualise difficult concepts. Then we usually try some exam questions to check understanding and ensure that students can apply their knowledge. I always send any notes we have made during the session to the student following the session (most students like to use these to make their own notes).
