Louis I.

My name is Louis and I am a recent first-class graduate of the University of Oxford in BA Philosophy and French Literature. Currently, I am studying law to sit the Solicitor Qualifying Exams.

I have four years tutoring experience preparing students for 13+, I/GCSEs, and IB/A-Levels across different exam boards --- as well as admissions to universities such as Oxford. Clients benefit from my thorough lesson planning, informed by close communication with parents and students to understand their priorities, as well as my friendly and engaging style.

As a break from my work and studies, I enjoy running and recently completed the Southampton Marathon - this taught me that any goal can be tackled with proper preparation, advice, and consistency. At the weekend, you're sure to find me at my local 'Park run', where I'm always down to get to know someone new.

I communicate thoroughly with all my clients so you get exactly the help you need. When working on exercises, I always make sure the go over the student's answer with them to help them improve on it. This is always supplemented with careful explanations and diligent revision of key areas.

I find it really useful when a teacher turns the tables and asks their students to talk through their understanding of a text or how they would structure an argument. It forces students to pay attention and to really think about their answer on a deeper level. It's the best form of revision because it lets you go over old material in a new way.
