Hi, I’m Lithuna! I tutor Economics and Maths, and I really enjoy helping students become more confident in subjects they may initially find challenging.

My approach is friendly, patient and encouraging. I know that every student learns differently, so I take the time to understand what they are struggling with and explain concepts in a way that makes sense to them. I like breaking difficult topics down into simple steps and using examples to make them easier to understand.

For Economics, I focus on building strong subject knowledge alongside the exam technique needed to achieve higher marks. This includes structuring longer answers, developing analysis, using application effectively and improving evaluation. For Maths, I focus on making sure students understand the method behind a question rather than simply memorising steps, before building their confidence through practice.

I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, as this is often where the most progress is made. My aim is for students to leave each lesson feeling more confident than when they started.

I tailor each lesson to the individual student, taking into account their current level, areas they find difficult and what they are working towards at school.

I usually start lessons with a short recap of previous topics to check understanding and identify anything that needs revisiting. We then work through the main topic together, breaking it down into manageable steps before applying what we have covered to practice and exam-style questions.

For Economics, I place a strong focus on exam technique. I help students understand exactly what questions are asking, how to structure their answers and how to develop their analysis and evaluation to reach the higher mark bands. For Maths, I work through methods step-by-step before gradually encouraging students to complete questions more independently.

I regularly use questions throughout lessons to check understanding rather than simply moving on, and I keep track of areas that need further practice. Most importantly, I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable saying when they don't understand something and are encouraged to keep trying.
