I graduated from the University of Bath with a BSc in Physics with Geophysics and followed that with PGCE at the University of East Anglia, specialising in teaching Physics and Maths. I taught at the International School of London for 4 1/2 years gaining experience working with students of varying abilities from different backgrounds.

I have worked in Forensic Science, the Railway and the Electrical Industries and have first hand experience of the relevance of physics and maths in these industries. I have travelled widely and worked with people from different cultures and ethnic backgrounds, giving me insight into different approaches to learning.

Every student is different and my job is to make sure that each session builds the student's confidence, alongside increasing their knowledge and understanding of physics or maths. I really enjoy getting to know my students and working out what is the best approach for them. For example, we may discuss topics, look at exam questions together or I might give mini teaching talks. I ask carefully directed questions which encourage the student to share their understanding.
