As someone studying a Masters in Biology, I understand how frustrating it can be trying to understand complicated biological concepts, while also trying to articulate yourself in an exam. Many of my peers and I struggled with the specificity of the AQA markscheme, costing us the top marks in class tests and mock exams until our teacher started showing us common patterns and phrases examiners are looking for. In year 13, I was appointed Student Head of Biology and started a tutoring group for year 12 and 13 Biology A-level students, which had a heavy focus on markscheme language and long-answer previous exam questions. This was definitely a huge help in achieving an A in my final exams, while allowing me to support other students in the same position. Due to this, I have a comprehensive and deep understanding of the AQA markscheme and how to achieve the top marks for long answer-questions. 

I'll be using previous exam questions as the basis of our lessons, getting you to break down the structure into more basic concepts and reinforcing your knowledge of the syllabus. It's important for students to feel comfortable to ask questions and share the topics they struggle with, so I ensure that my tutoring sessions go at your pace, while encouraging your curiosity for particularly tricky topics. I'll be putting a heavy focus on the markscheme so you start to recognise the specific language and phrasing the AQA exam board is looking for.
