I've been tutoring Maths & Further Maths since 6th Form, where I achieved 95% across the subjects. I've always found communicating maths to be extremely fun, going on to teach & lead in A-Level Maths Departments for 6 years.

My BSc was in Mathematics at the University of Exeter. Then, my PGCE to teach 11-18 Year Olds Maths was at King's College London. I then taught for 6 years in Cambridgeshire and finally in Greater Manchester, including leading multiple A-Level departments.

Whilst teaching full-time I completed my part-time MSc in Advanced Cyber Security, achieving a Distinction (based at King's College London.) Now, I have left the classroom to pursue a PhD in Computer Science (Neuroimaging) at the University of Manchester full-time!

My main goal through tuition is raising student confidence and encouraging questioning and critical thinking. Feedback from students, whether that's taught students, tutored students or students on a PMT course, has always focused on my positive nature and warm approach to collaborative mathematics.

In learning Maths & Further Maths at A-Level, there are two strands. Understanding comes first, ensuring all of the relevant misconceptions have been filtered out and students know how to approach those tricky, abstract question types. Secondly, comes Exam Preparation. This part is all about maximising marks. Learning the patterns of the exams, knowing which question parts are repetitive and most importantly - knowing how to dissect what the question really wants from you.

Both are integrated throughout my tutoring, enabling us to prioritise one over the other depending on how well the student has mastered the topic. I pride myself on the positive feedback I've accumulated over the years and thoroughly encourage you to try learning with me!
