I have experience tutoring students across maths and the sciences from GCSE up to University level. I led calculus tutorials for small groups of students at Durham University, consolidating the material covered in lectures, guiding them through problem sets and building their confidence with the material.

I have tutored a number of students at both GCSE and A-Level in the sciences, covering AQA, Edexcel, CAIE and OCR exam board. My students usually improve by at least one grade (often two) within a few months, through a combination of building up knowledge and instilling confidence in their abilities.

I have availability both daytime and evenings for weekdays and weekends, get in touch and we can find a time that works for you!

My sessions are heavily dependent on the preferences of the student. Most sessions start with a brief overview of the topic we're covering, providing a refresher for the student and making sure we are on the same page. We then look at a number of questions, often starting with me walking the student through the question, and gradually moving the emphasis over to the student. This allows them to build their confidence and complete as much of the question as they can independently. I aim to have students completeing questions with minimal prompting by the end of the session.

I adapt my pace and emphasis to the student, focusing in on specific problem areas and identifying key misuderstandings. I ensure that my explanations are clear to the student, often providing a different way of thinking about things to that provided by their main teacher.
