I am a First-Class BSc Applied Medical Sciences graduate with a strong academic background in Biology, Biomedical Science and Human Health. Throughout my degree, I developed a broad understanding of areas including cell biology, genetics, physiology, anatomy, disease, pharmacology and scientific research, which has given me a solid foundation in Biology.

I have experience tutoring both GCSE and A-Level Biology, with a particular focus on GCSE. I am familiar with the AQA GCSE Biology specification and the knowledge and exam skills students need to succeed. My degree has also allowed me to explore Biology beyond the GCSE curriculum, giving me a wider perspective on the subject and a genuine enthusiasm for helping students develop their own understanding of it.

My tutoring style is friendly, supportive and focused on helping students feel confident in Biology.

A relaxed and supportive environment: I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and taking their time to work through challenging topics.

Lessons tailored to each student: I adapt lessons to the student's individual needs, focusing on areas they find difficult while building on the knowledge they already have.

Clear and engaging explanations: I use simple explanations, diagrams and examples to break down complex topics and make them easier to understand.

Active learning: I use questions, discussion and active recall to help students stay engaged and develop a stronger understanding of the subject.

Exam-focused preparation: I place emphasis on exam technique, including understanding command words, applying knowledge to unfamiliar questions and structuring answers effectively.

Building confidence: I encourage students to recognise their progress and become more confident in tackling questions independently.

Making progress together: Each lesson has a clear purpose, and I want students to leave feeling that they understand something better than they did before.

My aim is to make Biology feel more manageable, enjoyable and achievable, while giving students the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed. I look forward to working with you :)
