About Ahmad
I’m a Chemical Engineering undergraduate and former A* Mathematics student who knows first-hand what it feels like to struggle with maths. There was a time when even basic algebra felt difficult, but by changing the way I approached the subject, I completely transformed my performance and went on to achieve top grades.
That experience strongly shapes the way I tutor today. I believe many students are capable of far more than they realise — often, they simply need concepts explained in a way that genuinely makes sense to them.
My teaching focuses on understanding rather than memorisation. Instead of simply showing students which formula to use or which steps to copy, I help them understand why the maths works. Once that foundation is strong, we build exam technique, problem-solving ability and confidence so they can tackle both familiar and unfamiliar GCSE questions.
Every student learns differently, so my lessons are tailored to the individual. I identify weaker areas, break difficult concepts into clear steps and adapt my explanations until the student can apply the method independently and confidently.
My aim is not only to improve grades, but to develop confident and resilient problem-solvers. Whether a student is struggling with the basics or aiming for Grades 7, 8 and 9, I provide structured and supportive tuition built around their individual goals.
Outside of academics, I am heavily involved in boxing and fitness, and that has shaped the way I approach learning. Boxing teaches you to stay calm under pressure, adapt when things do not go to plan and keep working when things become difficult. I want my students to develop that same academic resilience — to become resilient under pressure and hard to knock down, like a composed fighter in the ring.
When an unfamiliar exam question catches them off guard, I teach them to stay calm, adapt their approach and work through the problem logically.
Having personally experienced the journey from struggling with maths to excelling in it, I understand both the frustration and the breakthrough — and my goal is to help students achieve that same transformation.
Tutoring Style
Each lesson lasts 1 hour, giving us enough time to identify weaknesses, learn or strengthen key concepts, practise exam-style questions and review progress without rushing.
My lessons are designed for GCSE Maths students , whether they are struggling with the basics or aiming for Grades 7–9. I focus on helping students understand the maths properly, then apply that understanding confidently to exam questions.
Each lesson follows a clear structure:
-Warm-up: short questions to review previous topics and identify any gaps.
-Teaching & Question Practice: clear explanations followed by targeted GCSE and exam-style questions.
- Feedback: reviewing mistakes, discussing improvements and identifying what to focus on next.
I have previously helped students make significant improvements in a short period by identifying exactly where they were losing marks and adapting lessons around their individual needs.
My aim is for every student to leave each lesson with greater understanding, stronger problem-solving skills and a clear idea of how to continue improving.
