I am an experienced Biology tutor with a PhD in Environmental Science and over ten years of teaching and tutoring experience. I previously worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Ljubljana and have taught Biology at both university level and in independent secondary schools in England. I also hold a formal teaching qualification.

My academic background means I bring a deep, research-level understanding of Biology, while my teaching experience allows me to explain complex concepts clearly and accessibly to students at GCSE and A-level. I specialise in A-level Biology, including exam technique, essay writing (Paper 3), and supporting students aiming for top grades and competitive university applications.

I now work primarily as a tutor, as I value the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students and to tailor lessons closely to their individual needs. Many of my students come to me lacking confidence; my focus is on helping them develop both secure understanding and belief in their own ability.

My tutoring style is calm, structured, and highly supportive. I focus on building deep understanding rather than surface learning, ensuring students can apply their knowledge confidently in exams.

Lessons are carefully planned and tailored to each student. I break down complex topics into manageable steps, regularly check understanding, and revisit misconceptions before they become ingrained. Alongside content, I place strong emphasis on exam technique — including interpreting questions, structuring answers, and managing time effectively.

I create a safe, non-judgemental learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. This is particularly important for students who have lost confidence or feel overwhelmed by the volume of Biology content.

My aim is not only to improve grades, but to help students feel calmer, more confident, and more in control of their learning.
