I am an experienced tutor with four years of teaching experience, currently studying medicine. I tutor GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics, as well as A-level Biology. I also have experience teaching primary school children and adapting explanations to make challenging concepts easier to understand.

Alongside academic tutoring, I can provide guidance to students applying to medical school, including UCAT preparation and interview practice. I can support applicants throughout the application process, from understanding the UCAT and developing exam technique to preparing for medical school interviews. I am passionate about helping students build their knowledge, confidence and achieve their academic goals.

I believe effective tutoring should be personalised, interactive and focused on building both understanding and confidence. After identifying a student’s goals and areas for improvement, I plan lessons around their individual needs and learning preferences.

My lessons typically include:

- A short starter quiz to assess existing knowledge and identify any gaps.

- Interactive teaching through discussion and questioning, creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

- Breaking down topics into manageable sections to avoid overwhelming students and ensure a strong understanding before moving on.

- Exam practice as a key part of my lessons. I work through questions with students, focusing on understanding what is being asked, developing an effective approach and improving their answers.

- Review and reflection at the end of each lesson, identifying strengths, areas for improvement and what we should focus on next.

I believe consistent exam practice is essential for building confidence and achieving strong results, so I aim to make every lesson purposeful and focused on the student’s individual goals.
