I started as an engineering apprentice in 1972 with the Post Office which later became BT. I studied telecommunications engineering at local colleges and in 1975 I won the City and Guilds Silver Medal for the best examination result nationally. This lead to me being sponsored to do a three year Bsc Hons in Engineering at Aston University. This course had a high level of physics and mathematics content. I graduated with a First Class degree and returned to BT where I was promoted to Engineering Manager. I had a number of different roles over the years and I also did part time teaching at local technical colleges which really started my interest in teaching. During this time due to my experience I became a member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers and a Chartered Engineer. I also acheived a BA Degree with the OU specialsing in Mathematics. I became a senior manager within BT with various responsibilities including quality, secuity, IT develoment, process control and graduate recruitment. Upon leaving BT in 2004 I moved into the NHS as an IT manager and also started tutoring Maths and Physics. My students achieved some good results and as demand grew I was able to eventually tutor full time. I have helped hundreds of young people over the past 22 years and find it the most worthwhile thing I have ever done professionally. 

I have been tutoring maths and physics for over 20 years. I specialise in A level physics but also teach A level Maths and Gcse in each subject. I prefer to teach online as I find it the most effective method.

In terms of exam boards my main specialism is AQA A level physics where I am able to teach all of the option papers eg Turning Points and also of course their Paper 3 practical.

My approach is to build lessons around the very latest past paper questions pertinent to the requirements of each student.

I offer support to each student outside tutoring sessions by answering any questions they may have. There is no charge for this.

I focus on teaching fundamentals based around the types of exam question students can expect. 

I also concentrate on the best strategies that students should use to do well in their exams. This type of approach cannot be effectively duplicated using AI as it requries knowledge of individual students specific abilities.

I have a BSc in Engineering and BA in Mathematics. Both of these courses having a high level of physics content. I am also a member of The Institution of Electrical Engineers and a Chartered Engineer.
