I have been tutoring for 16 years, and started when I was overseas. I found that I really enjoyed working with students one to one, especially when it helped to improve their confidence and enabled them to achieve their full potential in the final exams. It also improved my skills with depth of knowledge, exam technique and tailoring sessions to meet the needs of each individual that I work with. With this wealth of experience, along with my day to day job of teaching high achieving students who continue onto some of the top universities, I am confident that I am able to support students who find Chemistry a struggle. I tutor online using a wide range of techniques. My specialism is A Level Chemistry (OCR and AQA). I have worked at some of the most prestigious schools in the UK and am a former Head of Chemistry.

I use a range of techniques when tutoring, including student led and teacher led questioning, practise questions, exam style questions and explaining concepts which students find challenging. I also focus on linking new material back to concepts that have been understood in other topics. Analysing and attempting past paper questions is an excellent way to improve exam technique, including timing and question interpretation. I spend as much time as possible supporting the individual and can amend the style to fit with the student concerned.
