I am an Oxford University graduate, with a First in History and English. I have experience teaching English at a summer school in Hong Kong, and I have an exceptional academic background. I was awarded a Gibbs History Prize by Oxford for the second-highest performance in History finals. I like to help students build or consolidate their overall understanding of key texts through close reading sessions, as well as thematic approaches based on common past paper topics. For a first session, I would typically talk about a key passage with the student, focussing on moving the discussion towards the perceptive, insightful analysis that will secure top GCSE grades. I can also help with essay plannning and writing as we move towards exam season.
