Izzy T.

I have just graduated with an MPhil and BA in English from Cambridge and am looking to tutor students of all ages and abilities in English language and Literature. I can also help assist with the university application process, and more specifically the Oxbridge interview and ELAT exam. Having worked within Cambridge's outreach schemes I am keen to extend this access to more prospective students through one-to-one tuition.

It is important for me that students are able to be extended beyond the confines of curriculum, and it is my hope to foster a love of creativity and the English language in students irrespective of their ability.

In my sessions there will be a focus on interdisciplinary thinking alongside a focus on curriculum criteria. Lessons will be tailored to the students learning styles and needs. For instance, depending on the gaps in a student's knowledge we may focus on how to structure an essay, practise forming interpretations of texts or time management for exams. Homework and practice questions may also be a useful tool to keep the momentum for students between sessions, although this will be optional depending on what the tutee requests.
