I teach 3 days in a local boarding school. Examine every year at gcse and A-level for the last 15 years (bar covid) which means I can tell you what examiners are looking for.

 I enjoy Psychology teaching a great deal and am involved in the Association of Psychology teachers (ATP) as well as an AQA Psychology examiner.

I believe the exam boards are different and although I have tutored content for the other 4 boards my experience and expertise are within AQA.

I can offer support in essay writing, improving average marks, revision resources, memory tricks

I have worked in a number of settings from central London state schools to an eating disorder hospital and now a girls boarding school. It has meant I have helped a lot of students with educational, sen or mental health extra needs and figured out strategies to help them specifically. I have an eye for marginal gains and quick wins in exam technique as well as the specialist knowledge and experience to help stretch the top end to A* and helping make the overwhelming content feel manageable for the students who want to improve by 1 grade.

I have an informal style which makes the content more memorable re what to focus on, I am often led by the students. 

I have taught topics from scratch with my own workbooks / resources for students who have been ill or have had long term teacher absence.

I have taught just essay techniques for students needing to improve their timed exam scores.

I have gone over content students haven't understood and provide resources for every lesson. 

I really believe that for Psychology A Level, helping students review timed work is also such an important tutor time activity because many teachers can't fit this in enough due to the vast specification and class sizes.

I have also had over 60 % of my students get an A or A* and believe that elevation above target grades is due to understanding how to answer questions properly
