I am a fully qualified Science and Physics teacher with extensive experience teaching and tutoring students from Key Stage 3 through to A-level Physics. Whether a student is aiming for a Grade 4 pass or striving for the very highest grades, I tailor every lesson to their individual needs, building confidence while developing the knowledge and exam skills needed for success.

Before becoming a teacher, I spent several years working in industry across engineering, robotics and scientific research. During this time, I worked on a range of high-profile projects involving advanced technology, aerospace systems, simulation and scientific problem-solving. This experience allows me to bring science to life by showing students how the concepts they learn in the classroom are applied in real careers and cutting-edge industries.

Academically, I hold a First-Class Integrated Master's degree (MEng) in Robotics from the University of Leeds. My background combines physics, mathematics, engineering, computing and electronics, giving me a deep understanding of the subjects I teach and enabling me to explain even the most challenging topics in clear, accessible ways.

I have experience teaching both the AQA and OCR specifications and understand not only the science itself but also the exam techniques required to maximise marks. Alongside developing subject knowledge, I focus heavily on helping students interpret exam questions, structure extended responses and avoid the common mistakes that often cost valuable marks.

One of the most rewarding aspects of tutoring is seeing students exceed their own expectations. I have successfully supported students who were at risk of failing to achieve strong GCSE and A-level grades, with many improving to predicted A and B grades through personalised tuition, structured revision and targeted practice. I believe every student can make exceptional progress when lessons are adapted to their learning style and delivered in a supportive, encouraging environment.

My tutoring style is relaxed, friendly and student-centred. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and challenging themselves without fear of getting things wrong. Every lesson is tailored to the individual, whether they need support building confidence, catching up on missed learning, preparing for exams or aiming for the highest grades.

I use a wide range of teaching strategies to suit different learning styles, including worked examples, visual explanations, retrieval practice, exam-style questions and regular opportunities for students to explain concepts in their own words. Lessons are carefully structured to build understanding step by step before applying knowledge to increasingly challenging questions.

Success in science isn't just about knowing the content—it's about knowing how to revise effectively and perform under exam conditions. I therefore place a strong emphasis on developing study skills, revision strategies and exam technique alongside subject knowledge. Students learn how to interpret command words, approach longer-answer questions, manage their time and avoid the common mistakes that cost valuable marks.

Above all, my goal is to help students become independent, confident learners. I want every student to leave lessons feeling more capable than when they arrived, with the knowledge, skills and self-belief needed to succeed both in their exams and beyond
