I have now been teaching for over 15 years. My subject specialism is Chemistry but I am confident teaching all sciences and maths, as well as helping with improving study skills. I graduated from York University with a first class MChem Degree before going on to complete a PhD at Bristol University. I studied A-levels in Chemistry, Biology and Maths as well as AS-levels in Physics and Further Maths - I achieved an A grade in all of my exams. I have not always found school easy and was diagnosed with Dyslexia when I was 9 years old. My reading age was 2 years below my peers and my parents were told I would be unlikely to gain any formal qualifications - how wrong were they! I firmly believe everyone can achieve whatever they set their mind to, provided they have the motivation and determination to succeed. I was very lucky to have an amazing tutor who taught me to read and to love it - it changed my life.

It is important to me to get to know my students so that I can help maximise their learning potential - what works for one student doesn't always work for another. Each tutorial is bespoke and tailored to the individual to work on identifying the areas where help is most needed.
