Hi, I'm Joe and I’m a fourth year medical student at University of Birmingham. 

I began tutoring in my first year at university, tutoring STEM subjects at both A-Level and GCSE. Since then, I have taught over 400 hours of lessons helping students to reach their target grades or higher. 

I ensure that I regularly keep up to date with changes to specifications and exam structures across all exam boards so that I can tailor each session to your child’s individual needs.

I specialise in helping students that lack confidence in their abilities, students who have additional learning needs and also those that are hoping to attain the top grades.

One of my students last year was working at a grade 3 in GCSE Biology when we first started lessons. In her summer exams she achieved a grade 7 after weekly sessions and practise with me and commitment from the student! Her parents left the following feeedback: 

'Joe's tuition has been invaluable for my daughter. She was desperately lacking in confidence and had big gaps in her learning having missed a great deal of time in school. She had written off the idea of ever achieving (much less enjoying) maths and sciences. Our lessons will be entirely centred around what you as a student need to get the most out of our time- whether that's focusing on exam technique or reviewing content that you did not understand in lessons. I’m comfortable with a wide range of exam boards at both GCSE and A-Level meaning the content we do together will be specifically tailored towards your exams.

I understand, particularly for STEM subjects, the importance of using past paper questions when revising. It's a great way to familiarise yourself with content and the way mark schemes are written. I will often use these in my sessions as it helps you as a student work on your exam technique as well as test your knowledge.
