About Ibrahim

I began tutoring upon graduating from the London School of Economics, as I believe that education has the most profound impact on society and have always been very grateful for the people and institutions that have provided me with excellent opportunities and education over the years.

I specialise in Economics, Maths and Further Maths at A-level and GCSE. I also offer extensive support with university applications, from deciding a degree and institution, to writing the personal statement and interview preparations.

In my years of tutoring, I have achieved incredible results with students of differing ages and abilities. A few examples include taking students from level 3 in GCSE maths all the way to a level 8 in under a year; refining students abilities in GCSE/A-level maths to help them achieve a grade 9/A*; as well as many successes in Economics including one student who went from a D to an A* during year 13, with some of my current students on track to go to LSE and study Economics like I did as well as several former students who have gained offers from Oxbridge.

Thank you so much for your time and I do hope to hear from you soon!

Tutoring Style

From my experience, I have found that confidence is the key to unlocking a student's academic potential. I have had students who are placed in low sets and believe that they're simply 'bad at Maths', only to go on and achieve level 9's and A*s.

This can be for several different reasons, such as a lack of confidence or lack of support at school and I see my job as identifying and rectifying these issues to show the student that they can learn anything they put their mind to. I really do believe that this is true and have many students who never dreamed of passing GCSE Maths now pursuing degrees related to the subject having discovered a true passion for learning.

I achieve these results by stripping the subject down to its building blocks. This is because most students struggle due to a lack of understanding when it comes to the foundations of Mathematics, which school teachers often treat as 'assumed knowledge', leaving students who don't know this prior Maths feeling lost and confused.

By going back to basics and rebuilding these foundations, students find the subject significantly less daunting and often really do find a passion for learning which follows them into the rest of the lives.
