When I did my first GCSE biology test in year 10 I got a D. Over the next years I worked hard and managed to achieve an A* at GCSE and an A at A-level and I recently received a first in my Biology Masters Degree. Through that hard work I found a love for the subject I had so struggled with and found myself helping my peers with difficult concepts. Therefore tuition was a simple step for me to take. As a tutor I aim to pass the skills I gained in this time onto pupils through an interactive approach which aims to link science to their interests.

My main aim throughout any lesson is for the pupil to enjoy their time as this creates the most productive environment for learning. I start lessons by getting the pupil to pick out trouble areas of the syllabus. Lessons then consist of content explanation with exam style questions and other interactive activities mixed in. I aim for this plan to be flexible and adaptable so that it can respond to the needs of each pupil. I also like to draw on pupils own interests, if they want to do veterinary medicine lets look at the respiratory system in dogs, If they love history lets look at the history of this scientific discovery and if they love the gym lets look at how protein affects muscle strength.
