I am a fully qualified teacher with 8 years of teaching experience, including experience teaching in secondary schools. I completed my PGCE (teaching qualification) at Oxford University, having previously completed my undergraduate studies at the University of St Andrews. I have had the pleasure of tutoring numerous students over the years and helping them to achieve their goals.
I am currently working as a full-time tutor of English Language and Literature, and have been doing so for the past five years. I have accumulated 3000 hours of 1-1 tutoring.

I am skilled at helping pupils develop the skills needed to succeed with the current English GCSE specifications, including reading comprehension, writing skills in a variety of styles, spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as literature. I encourage students to develop their answers as much as possible and to carefully analyse language. I am very familiar with all the major exam boards for both Language and Literature (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, CIE) and can cover all set literature texts.

GCSE lessons focus on exam technique and ensuring students know exactly what the examiners are looking for. 

I am a very friendly and approachable person and experienced in teaching a variety of different ability levels. I use a variety of teaching methods to make learning interesting and fun, in order to get the best out of my students. I am skilled at establishing pupils` individual learning needs and tailoring lessons to ensure they can make as much progress as possible.
