I started teaching chemistry to undergraduate students while at graduate school at University of California, Santa Cruz about 15 years ago. I taught general and organic chemistry. After receiving my Ph.D., I worked as a research scientist for a startup company in Silicon Valley, California, working on cutting edge research in nanotechnology. I have been a full-time chemistry tutor for the past 9 years, teaching students on both sides of the Atlantic. I have tutored students in GCSE level chemistry, A-level chemistry, and uni level chemistry. I am well familiar with the curriculum and stringent requirements of GCSE and A-level and IB courses

I see my job as to provide the missing ingredients from the educational experience. For some students, the lecture or the book simply does not make sense. I will explain the concept in as many different ways as needed until the student gets it. For some students more practice problems are needed and I am happy to provide as many problems as needed and guide the student through a solution. We are all different and learn in different fashions. I see my job as to find the right way and to unlock that potential that I see in every student who comes to me.
